Summer Placements 2020
EM TTI placements for this summer have now all been confirmed. Thank you to our wonderful Associated Partners for providing placements for EM TTI students! Due to the current world pandemic, the placements this summer will be a mixture of virtual and physical placements.
EM TTI’s system of mandatory placements will equip our students with professional skills and competences, tailored to the needs and requirements of the market. Through the placement experience, students will explore whether they want to follow a particular career path, and will also be able to establish their own professional network. We have a range of companies and organisations providing translation or interpreting services who have expressed their willingness to host placements for our EM TTI students. The placement in the first year will largely focus on applying the knowledge and practical skills acquired during the first year of studies in a real-world scenario, and exploring topics for the dissertation. The second placement will relate to the dissertation and will ensure that the topic is relevant to industry.
EM TTI students will undertake two compulsory placements hosted by one of our Associated Partners. During each placement, students will spend one month at the host’s premises working on a topic suggested by the host company or organisation. These two placements will prepare the students not only for their dissertation but, more generally, for their future professional career. Each student will be assigned two supervisors, one from the institution where they have studied, and the second from the host company or organisation.
