Professor Gloria Corpas Pastor
Professor. Local coordinator at the University of Malaga
Professor Gloria Corpas Pastor is Professor of Translation and Interpreting of the University of Malaga (Spain), a visiting Professor in Translation Technologies at the Research Institute of Information and Language Processing (University of Wolverhampton) and Head of the Research Group in Lexicography and Translation (Lexytrad). Professor Corpas's research fields range from translation and interpreting technologies to phraseology (member of the Advisory Council of Europhras), corpus linguistics and corpus-based translation (2007 Translation Technologies Research Award), and lexicography (1995 Euralex Verbatim Award). She has published a wide collection of papers in both national and international journals, and is author and editor of several books. Her Manual de fraseología española (Madrid, Gredos) has been a reference in the field since 1996. Professor Corpas is regularly invited to give talks at international events and is a member of several Editorial Boards and Scientific Committees.

Dr Mercedes Enríquez-Aranda
Senior Lecturer (with tenure) in Translation and Interpreting
Dr Mercedes Enríquez-Aranda holds a PhD in Translation and Interpreting from the University of Malaga (Spain) (Extraordinary Award), being her main fields of research reception studies in translation (literary translation, audiovisual translation and media accessibility) and translator’s training. She has many pieces of research published nationally and internationally in these fields derived from regional, national and European research projects and international research stays. She has also disseminated her research in various papers and conferences in national and international forums. She is a member of the research group Translation, Literature and Society (HUM-623) and a Sworn Translator of the English language. Her working languages are Spanish, English, French and Italian.
Dr Mercedes Enríquez-Aranda would be happy to supervise dissertations on Audiovisual translation.
Mr. Mahmoud Gaber Ali Ali
Lecturer of Interpreting Technologies
MA in Intercultural Communication, Public Service Interpreting and Translation, University of Alcalá de Henares, Spain. Sworn translator and interpreter certified by the United Arab Emirates Ministry of Justice. His research interests include Interpreting Technologies, Corpus Linguistics and Public Service Interpreting. Currently, he is a pre-doctoral scholarship holder within the framework of the State Programme for the Promotion of Talent and its Employability of the Spanish Ministry of Economy, Industry and Competitiveness for the training of doctors.

Dr Encarnación Postigo Pinazo
Associate Professor with tenure
BA in German Philology (English) from the University of Málaga (1987). PhD in English Philology from the University of Málaga (1997). Senior Lecturer in Translation and Interpreting at the University of Malaga (since 2009) and regular evaluator for the Andalusian Agency AGAE (since 2009). Scientific production included in national and international scientific repositories. Visiting scholar at American and European universities and member of different scientific committees of national and international journals. Involved in national and international research projects.

Dr Isaac Barba Redondo

Isaac Barba Redondo has been at the University of Malaga since 1991, usually teaching English language and technical translation subjects.
He took a degree in English Philology in Spain, though came from a background of physics and mathematics in the UK. His passion for science and his discovery of grammar in Spain shine through in his professional interests and in his hobby: automotive mechanics. Moreover, his doctoral thesis centred on translation problems encountered in automotive texts.
Dr Redondo would be happy to supervise dissertation topics: English language grammar; (automotive) technical translation.
Dr. Miriam Seghiri
Director of Studies at the University of Malaga
BA in Translation and Interpreting (Spanish-English, French, Italian) in 2002. PhD in Translation and Interpreting (with high honours) at the University of Málaga (University’s 2006 PhD Best Student Prize) in 2006. Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.) in 2019. Currently Senior Lecturer (with tenure) at the Department of Translation and Interpreting at the University of Málaga (Spain). She has also been a lecturer at the Spanish universities of Cordoba and Murcia, as well as at the University of Cambridge (thanks to the Erasmus+ programme) and the American university of Dickinson College. Her research fields range from specialised translation (scientific, technical and legal) to corpus linguistics and ICTs (Translation Technologies Research Award —with. Dr. Corpas —in 2007, María Zambrano Award in 2013 and George Campbell Award in 2019). She has a patent with Dr. Corpas (N-Cor) for a methodology and a tool to assess the representativeness of corpora. She has been involved in more than 15 R&D projects funded by the Spanish Government, the Andalusian Government or the EC. She has managed 3 project funded by the University of Malaga about educational innovation (NOVATIC, INTERPRETA 2.0 and PROFETA,) 2 sectoral actions on Training for the Improvement of Employability in Translation and 1 thematic network on new technologies applied to legal translation (TRAJUTEC). Nowadays she is managing 1 Thematic Network on New Technologies applied to technical translation (T3) and 1 teaching network of excellence on New technologies for translators (TACTRAD). She is co-editor in chief of four journals (REDNMA, REHIPIP, RCDCP and RCHLLPS). The outcome of her research has been made public in national and international academic publications (9 books, more than 40 chapter-books, more than 40 journal articles and more than 70 invited talks).
Dr Seghiri would be happy to supervise dissertation topics including: specialised translation (scientific, technical and legal), corpus linguistics and ICTs.
Professor Juan Jesús Zaro
Professor of Translation
Dr. Juan Jesus Zaro is Professor of Translation at the University de Málaga since 2008. His research interests include Theories of Translation, History of Translation and Literary Translation. He has participated in international conferences and been invited as a guest lecturer in universities in Argentina, Chile, México, Spain, United Kingdom, United States and Uruguay, among other countries. Dr. Zaro has supervised several Rearch Projects and published a number of books, anthologies and articles, He is also a practising literary translator.

Prof Marcos Rodríguez-Espinosa
Senior Lecturer
Dr Marcos Rodríguez-Espinosa is Senior in the Department of Translation and Interpreting at the University of Málaga (Spain), where he lectures at the BA in Translation Studies and has been co-director of the MA in Translation for the Publishing Industry, PhD Programme in ‘Linguistics, Literature and Translation. He has translated and edited English and North American classic authors for leading Spanish publishing houses. His main research interests include literary translation, history of translation, translation and conflict, exile and translation, biography of translators, and audiovisual translation. He is currently a member of the Research Group ‘Translation and Specialized Languages’ (HUM-800), funded by the Andalusian Regional Government, and of the R&D Project ‘The Translation of Classics in their Publishing Contexts: A Transatlantic Approach (FFI2013-41743-P)’ (National Scientific Research, Development and Technological Innovation Plan), financed by the National Plan for Scientific and Technical Research and Innovation of the Spanish Ministry of Economy and Competitiveness of the Government of Spain.

Dr Nieves Jiménez Carra

Dr Nieves Jiménez Carra is a Senior Lecturer with Tenure at the University of Málaga (Málaga, Spain). She holds a PhD in Translation and Interpreting. Her main research interests include literary translation, audiovisual translation, and the translation of linguistic variation in literary and audiovisual texts. She has published a number of papers in these fields in national and international journals as well as book chapters and books. She has also participated in international conferences and has visited international institutions as a researcher or lecturer.

Dr Cristina Toledo-Báez

BA in Translation and Interpreting from the University of Malaga in 2004 and PhD in Translation and Interpreting (with Doctor Europeus mention) in 2009 (School of Arts' Best PhD Award, 2009) from the same University. Awarded several predoctoral and postdoctoral research grants for Copenhagen Business School (Denmark), University of Wolverhampton (United Kingdom), Dickinson College (USA) and Centre Privé de Langues (France). Research fields cover machine translation, translation technologies, corpus linguistics, specialised translation and translation assessment.

DR PABLO SALVADOR PÉREZ PÉREZ
PART-TIME LECTURER OF TRANSLATION AND INTERPRETING
Dr Pablo Salvador Pérez Pérez holds a degree in Translation and Interpreting from the University of Málaga, an MSc in Translating and Conference Interpreting from Heriot-Watt University in Edinburgh, and a PhD in Translation and Interpreting from the University of Málaga. He combines lecturing with his work as an interpreter. His research areas are focused on the preparation process of conference interpreting assignments and on interpreting training.

Dr María Rosario Bautista Zambrana

Dr María Rosario Bautista Zambrana holds a BA in Translation and Interpreting (English and German) and a PhD in Translation and Interpreting (with high honours) from the University of Malaga. She is a member of the research group Lexytrad (HUM-106) and works as a lecturer in German in the Department of English, French and German Philology of the University of Malaga. Her research interests include Corpus linguistics, Terminology and Phraseology, and her working languages are Spanish, German and English.

Dr Carmen Acuña-Partal

Dr Carmen Acuña-Partal is Senior Lecturer in the Department of Translation and Interpreting Studies at the University of Malaga, Spain, at the BA in Translation Studies and at the MA Programme in ‘Translation for the Publishing Industry’ (PhD Programme ‘Linguistics Literature and Translation’). She is a literary translator and editor, and has published on topics in Translation Studies such as the history of translation and in Spain and Latin America, literary translation, and the translation of classical works in science. She is currently also a member of the Research Group ‘Translation and Specialized Languages (HUM-800)’, of the Andalusian Regional Government.
